In a recent survey, iPage has emerged as a winner in terms of preventing the much talked about WordPress attacks. Some malicious attacks on a few websites were being carried out by WordPress hackers. Out of all the web hosts available, iPage has sprung out to be the best.
While iPage gives all the credit to its dedicated team and hard work, a few related facts came up to the surface. WordPress was subjected to BotNet, a form of Internet security attack by various hackers. According to the founder of WordPress, Matt Mullenweg, the servers were vulnerable to the attacks too and that is when iPage came to rescue.
When the attacks started in April, iPage withdrew all the wp-login.php accounts and blocked them. The next step that iPage took to deal with these attacks was to incorporate a secure and highly efficient firewall. Followed by this, it also prohibited access for all the IP addresses which made numerous attempts to log into accounts. These measures by iPage kept its customers away from the effect of the attacks.
iPage also helped in recognizing the pattern of BotNet attacks that were being carried out on WordPress sites. With some smart moves, iPage registered its name as the best host to prevent the WordPress attacks.
